Roasted pork with rice (燒肉飯), not very common seeing in the food stands of Taiwan, because it take time. But if you find a good one, it will make you stunning. And using charcoal grill than using gas. Unlike Japanese style, Korean style, Taiwan style is simple, as the picture showing. In Tainan, and Kaohsiung, you can find really old-Time delights, price also reasonable. Worth to taste.
燒肉飯, 不常見於台灣的小吃攤, 因為費時. 但如您找到一家棒的, 它會讓您驚艷. 使用木炭燒烤的比用瓦斯燒烤好. 不同於日式, 韓式, 台式的就如照片般簡單. 在台南和高雄, 您可以找到價錢合理, 非常古早味的, 值得一嚐.

Green bean noodle with duck meat. (鴨肉冬粉) A local famous snack in Héng chūn (恆春). Selling usually at noon to night time. It's simple, but very good taste. If you traveling around kending (墾丁) area, worth to try it.
鴨肉冬粉, 恆春一受歡迎的地方小吃. 通常黃昏到夜晚的時間在賣. 簡單卻非常美味. 如您在墾丁附近旅遊, 值得一嚐. 

Fàn tāng (飯湯), Taiwan style food.

Fàn tāng (飯湯), rice and soup, It's a special calling in the southwest Taiwan. In fact, you can also called it Zhōu(粥), Congee, too. Just a little different. Zhōu(粥), Congee more thickens. Summer time, Oysters best tasting season. Beside the Oyster omelets you can have another choice. Also it's very Taiwan style food, best to taste.
飯湯, 飯和湯, 這是很特別的稱呼在台灣西南部. 事實上您也可以稱它為粥, 或米粥. 只有一點點不同. 粥, 米粥, 是比較濃稠的. 夏日時分, 品嘗蚵仔最佳的季節. 除了蚵仔煎您可以有不同的選擇. 這也是非常台式的吃食, 值得一嚐.

Xiǎo liúqiú (小琉球), Pingtung county (屏東).

Xiǎo liúqiú (小琉球), an island away from Dōnggǎng (東港) about 30min by ferry. Beside Kending (墾丁), one another hot tour spot of Pingtung (屏東) county. Most area are coral reef, and intertidal zone, very good for snorkeling. You can spend half day or one day here, homestay here a lot too. And round whole island about 3hr by scooter, so you can go in the morning and back in the afternoon, depend on your option. By the way, if you get chance, stroung recommend to enjoy 3 year around Boat burning festival (燒王船). Very special than other Boat burning festival. Also this is the biggest festival of Xiǎo liúqiú.
小琉球, 一島嶼離東港約30min船程. 除了墾丁, 屏東縣另一熱門旅點. 多數的區域是珊瑚礁岸和潮間帶, 非常適合浮潛. 您可以花半天或一天在這, 這裡的民宿也很多. 繞行整個島騎摩托車約3hr, 所以您可以早上來,午後離去, 按照您的意思. 順帶一提, 如您有機會的話, 強烈建議參加三年一度燒王船祭典. 非常特別很不同於其他地方燒王船. 這也是小琉球最大的慶典.

Thanks Miss Yu and friends, from Hongkong, did 2D1N Taichung (台中) to ChinJin (清境) round trip. A trip that try to skip away big rain trip. Yes, we meet big rain at ChinJin in the afternoon, luckily we still saw a nice view in next day early morning in Hehuan mountain (合歡山). Also we went to Shinshe (新社) have a nice garden cafe.

感謝來自香港的余小姐和友人, 2D1N台中清境行. 一個嚐試避開大雨的旅程. 是的, 我們在清境的午後遇上了大雨, 但幸運的我們見到很漂亮的景於合歡山在隔日清晨. 同時也去了新社享受美好的庭園咖啡.

Shítī fishing port (石梯漁港), Hualien (花蓮).

Shítī fishing port (石梯漁港), one of fishing port with best view of Hualien (花蓮). Also the birthplace of dolphin seeing Taiwan. It's very near by Shítīpíng (石梯坪), one of famous tour spot of east coast, but most people passing by. If you have time, actually you can spend half day or one day here. Not only eating sea food, enjoy the landscapes, also a little far away here, you can have a nice coffee, or visiting some Artists Studio, or jumping into the sea. A wonderful summer day.

石梯漁港, 花蓮的漁港中有著美麗風景的之一. 同時也是台灣賞鯨的發源地. 它非常接近石梯坪, 東海岸的熱門景點之一, 但多數人都是路過. 如您有時間, 其實您可以花半天或一天在這. 不只是嘗海鮮, 欣賞風景, 同時在離這遠一點點, 您可以有杯好咖啡, 或是拜訪一些藝術家工作室, 或者乾脆泡在海裡. 一個美好的夏日時光.

Soft-shelled Turtle soup (燉鼈). Taiwan strange soup .

Soft-shelled Turtle soup. One another strange soup in Taiwan. In south Taiwan more easy to find than north Taiwan. It's one of Taiwan's countryside cuisine. The soup black because it use the Chinese medicine. Soft-shelled turtle in Chinese medicine dictionary also good for body health. But limitd pregnant woman to eat it because it's cold. Soft-shelled Turtle most are artificial feeding right now. But in the past, you can easy to find it in the small river, pond, and even the rice farm. Catch soft-shelled turtle need skill, and it's one of fun of farmers leisure time.

燉鱉湯. 另一奇怪的湯在台灣. 在南台灣比北台灣更容易找到. 它是台灣鄉土料理之一. 湯頭呈黑色是因為中藥材的關係. 燉鼈在中藥辭典上同時也有益人體健康. 但限制孕婦吃它因為藥性屬寒. 現在的鼈多數由人工飼養. 但在過去, 很容易找到它在小溪, 池塘, 甚至在農田中. 抓鱉是需要技巧的, 它也是農人休閒時的樂趣之一

Thanks Jessica & her family, from Hongkong, did 5D4N Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Kenting trip. A very slowly but relax trip. More of time spend in Kenting. We went to Xiǎo liúqiú (小琉球), that's a small island away from Dōnggǎng (東港) about 30min by boat. To some old town as Ānpíng (安平) and Héng chūn (恆春) enjoy the local famous food. To Kenting enjoy the sunset, some nice landscape, and visit some cafe shop near by seaside. Serviced Jessica in her last year trip from Kenting to Taitung. So happy and glad to service her again.

Hǎi'ān (海安) road & shénnóng (神農) street, Tainan city.

Hǎi'ān (海安) road & shénnóng (神農) street could be hot tour spot of Tainan in recent years. Most travelers whom visiting Tainan will come here at once. It's near, but style different, Hǎi'ān road more public space art, shénnóng street more old house renew and installation art. Day time and night time with different view, very beautiful. And... the key point, you can enjoy nice snacks, or nice restaurant, BBQ, bar, etc... here. More far you can attend to Garden night market, the biggest night market of Tainan. Best to come at noon, you can have lunch, and after visit shénnóng street have some coffee, before dark coming visiting Hǎi'ān road have a dinner, or go Anping (安平) enjoy the sunset and return. A very relaxing day trip.

海安路和神農街可能是近幾年台南最熱門的景點. 多數的旅人造訪台南一定會來這邊. 這兩條路非常近, 但風格不同, 海安路多公共空間藝術, 神農街多老屋翻新和裝置藝術. 而且...重點是這邊您可享受好吃的小吃, 餐廳, BBQ, 酒吧, 等...在這裡. 走遠點還可造訪台南最大的夜市, 花園夜市. 來這最好是午後, 您可以先享用午餐, 後拜訪神農街來杯咖啡, 夜晚來臨前訪海安路順便晚餐, 或先去安平賞夕陽後再回來. 一個非常放鬆的一日行.

Huāgǔ zhèn (花鼓陣), Bāo zhōng (褒忠), Yún lín county (雲林縣).

Huāgǔ zhèn (花鼓陣), is one of performing troupes usually you can see at religious celebrations of Taiwan. As a little like a folk Dance, leader waving flags, blowing the whistle, to control the team to do some action. Basic members are one standard-bearer, one drummer, and four people whom holding an umbrella. Huāgǔ zhèn (花鼓陣) the home town is Bāo zhōng (褒忠), Yún lín county (雲林縣). Almost everyone from child to old men that they know how to dance. Every year, during the Dragon boat festival they will have a racing, very worth to visit.
花鼓陣. 為一個表演團體通常您會在台灣的宗教慶典可以見到. 有一點點像民俗舞蹈, 領隊揮舞著旗子, 吹著哨子, 控制著團隊做某些動作. 基本成員有1旗手, 1鼓手, 和4個執傘手. 花鼓陣的故鄉是雲林縣的褒忠. 幾乎每個人從小孩到老人都知道怎麼跳. 每年, 在接近端午節的時候他們會有個比賽, 很值得一看.
